Crew paddling 100 miles faces new challenges

Part 2 of "Canoe Fishing: 100 Miles Through the Adirondacks"

Robert Field, Rex Del Rey, Ben Duchesney and Mark Vlaskamp continue their canoe fishing trip paddling 100 miles through the Northern Forest Canoe Trail in upstate New York. In Part 2, the guys now better understand the challenges they’ll face on this trip. They’ve worked through their portaging system and are feeling confident that they’ll be able to cover ground more quickly going forward. That feeling “rapidly” changes.

What they don’t realize is that some of the greatest challenges of the trip are coming up in this second episode. On day three, the guys grind through the most difficult portage yet before navigating around, up and over beaver dams. Then on day four, the guys paddle through a snow storm before braving icy waters in a Class III rapid almost a mile long. Watch to find out if they take the plunge or make it to the camp safely.

Watch the entire Part 2 episode!

The payoff for all the hardships the paddling crew faces is some excellent fishing for smallmouth bass.
